VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

The “Program Volunteering to serve the Community through youth volunteers of the International College” was established in 1984 on the initiative of Lic Rosa Lina Paciello Cabrera. This iconic program of the college allowed for years, the active participation of students, teachers and the educational community in a series of activities, both at national and international level.

Over the years, the program ceased to be active, but in the year 2011, the teaching Paul Catañy has taken on the responsibility of leading the Volunteer and currently plays the role of coordinator.

With the course of time, both the activities and the interest of the students have experienced a sustained growth year after year, getting to the point in which activities are carried out almost every Saturday of the school year. In the month of march, the Volunteer Program officially begins its activities for the school year at a ceremony held in the Hall of Acts intended for 3.er Cycle and secondary Education. During this event, the leadership team made up of students, who are recognized as outstanding volunteers due to his perseverance, discipline, and good example. Annually, the body of volunteers with the voluntary participation of approximately 150 students. It is important to note that the Volunteer has enjoyed consistently with the backing of the Board, the Directorate-General and the Vicedirección 3.er Cycle and secondary Education.

In 2017, we opened the Club of Operation Smiles of the Inter, the number 15, Paraguay. The Executive Director of the Foundation, Operation Smile, Paraguay, Silvia Velázquez, and the international Manager Carlos Veron were present at the opening, along with other officials of the Foundation, the Director-General Mirtha Noguera and several volunteers.

The Volunteer Program has been committed to various institutions, such as the Home Shelter, Guadalupe Home, Hostel Rocio Cabriza for children with cancer, Telethon Foundation, Foundation, Princess Diana, Foundation, Operation Smile, Foundation Marking Steps, Home of elderly Oasis, Resort Santo Domingo grandparents and grandmothers, the Mission of Friendship, Foundation Fight Against Childhood Cancer, and Paraguayan Red Cross. Also, many students have actively participated in projects of A Roof for my Country and in various Foundations and/or Ngos

The culmination of the annual activities takes place in October, with a closing ceremony which includes the delivery of certificates, with three mentions different: "Volunteer" with nine assists, "Featured Volunteer" with twelve assists, and "Team Work and Featured Volunteer" for those who reach fifteen units.

In the year 2015, the Volunteer Program organized the International Congress of Volunteering, which included exhibitions and workshops simultaneously. Several student volunteers were honored by the Directorate of Youth and Sports of the Municipality of Asunción, among them Juan Quiroz and Constance Da Re.
